Russet Potatoes are grown in many states, however, only potatoes grown in Idaho can be called Idaho Potatoes. Rich, volcanic soil along with climate and irrigation make for an ideal growing condition for russet potatoes and help differentiate Idaho Potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
